In the last concept I shared with you, there was this old insect that would have a staff or a plant. I decided on the one with the staff with the pincers at the end, but when I was finishing it I felt that something was missing in the left hand... so I started to think about what would look good in his hand considering that he is an old man, he is not fast and in the group he would not be in charge of attacking or defending physically, so it cannot be a big weapon. First I thought of a small knife or dagger, that is round, not straight and that looks more like an accessory to feel safe than a weapon, then I thought that it could have some kind of amulet, I made some sketches of insect-shaped amulets, but I wasn't convinced much, then my wife told me that "an elder is in charge of guiding and bringing the light of his knowledge to the group, he could carry a lantern" and it was like 😱😱😱 you're right... so I made some ideas of lamps that insecoides could use, but as always my head started to overthink and overdetail everything, so I paused and decided on the acorn-shaped one and made the design a little simpler thinking about the scale of the print and that it wouldn't be so complex to paint it... and here it is

I really liked the design of the one carrying a plant on his back, so finally I made them two, the one with the staff and the one with the plant on the back. I hope you like them and enjoy them. I made the plant one as the one in charge of taking care of the beetles that they can use as scouts or alarms on their journey (like a surveillance drone lol), so you will find a few on their clothes and also on the plant.

(I wanted his mandible to resemble an old man's mustache, did it work?).

Scout insects have arrived in Codex this month. They adapt and specialize to any terrain and climate, being the most efficients at living in each place they settle. This overspecialization has been their greatest strength, but with the dark changes in the world around them, it is becoming their weakness. This species has had to go out to find a new habitat for their colony, and the first explorers will begin to arrive soon. They are prepared to face any danger and for their tribe, they are willing to overcome every mountain in the road. Almost as important as finding a new home is getting back alive to guide them home, that is why the party are prepared with members for all kinds of challenges. The bugs are just the vanguard, soon they will be joined by explorers and adventurers. Some call them insectfolks, others Thri-Kreen, but they prefer the hardskin people.

In these last few months I have not been very communicative, I have been late in uploading the releases and finishing some of the models. I still have part of the campaign pending and my list of work to do has continued to grow. I regret the bad time and inconvenience that I have caused you with these delays and my absence. On advice I think it is necessary that I tell you some things to make my situation and reasons transparent. When the frontier Bits n Bases campaign was live, my wife was diagnosed with cancer. It was a complex time for us and we always try to be positive about it. But the truth is that it was more complicated than we would wish. I am the only person she has and I am 100% for her assistance and support. There have been complex and hard moments during this journey with anguish and fear. But thank God, the treatment and above all her strength to live is now much better and we have a good prognosis for her illness. For my part, after everything that has happened and now that she is better, I can focus on myself. A couple of months ago I started going to a psychiatrist and started therapy and medication with him to deal with some things we found related to this and others in my life. My therapist suggested me to be open about this and share my situation with you because of the way it affects me my current work status and he thinks sharing it could be good. I am very sorry for the lack of regular posting and communication, I think you have noticed that it is not my strong point. I had not written any of this before, I never wanted it to seem like I was using my wife's illness as an excuse or pretext for my absences in my work. I had told some of this to the guys at MMF and they always gave me their support and help, they have been great. I need to reaffirm that I will deliver and fulfill everything pending that I have, I could not just not do it. I have in mind all the things that are overdue to deliver... believe me, my mind does not stop reminding me hahaha. And also all the next things I want to do (I have folders and folders with ideas for upcoming releases, I think I have reference hoarding disease hahaha). I need to make a big turtlefolk set (I love turtles), gnomes (my wife loves gnomes, but the ones with pointy red hats), I want to make a lot of big monters, write lore, and a bunch of new sets with creatures and heroes for you to enjoy. Creating, designing, and sculpting is what I love, so for a long time there will be Codex. I also need to say that if you are going through a difficult situation in your life, don’t wait so long to ask for help or just talk about it with someone. Being strong is not about holding everything in silence – you are a human, not a wall – but about handling everything in an optimal way for everyone (that includes you too), and sometimes that will involve speaking up and asking for a hand. Again, thank you for your enormous support, patience, and understanding during all this time. You really are fantastic. And every time you write to me saying that you like one of the miniatures I made or send me photos of your painting, you really make my day. Thank you very much and happy 3dprinting

This month we have brought you the fearsome and elusive Gekos that can quickly climb trees, hang on vines or swim stealthily with only their eyes out of the water until they reach their prey and deliver a fatal blow, if you have not received one of their poisoned arrows before 🏹

But honestly you'd be lucky if the one who catches you is one of these lizards that kill quickly and efficiently. The swamp creatures are slippery, muddy and twisted both in his way of being and hunting. Of them, the worst are the big worms. They catch you and crush you slowly and and rest assured that in his belly, you will find a new definition of pain and suffering as you are slowly digested over... a thousand years 😱😱😱

This is the concept I made for February's Big Monster, yes, I'm late. I wanted to make a sea monster to accompany the piranhas and I started looking for ideas... there are already a lot of sharks, a whale is not a hunter predator 🤔 yet, I would prefer an orca in an arctic environment set, a coelacanth looks peaceful, so I went to prehistory, megalodon same as sharks, levyatan melvillei noted, mosasaurus nah, dunkleosteus 😒... dunkleosteus 😦, Dunkleosteus 😱!!! so be it 🛠️

Now I'm working on the head, plates and then the pose. With the pose ready I make the volumes and textures of the skin, polish some details until I feel that everything is ok and it would be ready to split into pieces and pre-support them.

Ellenwyn, a wood elf and Ulrika, a fighter. With them the set of 5 Custodian Angels is completed: Ariadna, Ellenwyn, Inasyah, Oriash and Ulrika.

Then is Ar'Iketh, Demoness Seer. It was a great challenge from concept to final work. Each time I added more things like the worshipers on the ground, chains, stones, etc... but I think it looks great.

There is also the last one I uploaded. Darkarat, cinder soul. He is the one who wakes up in the forest when the ashes go out. I loved the design.

I also made the little Mycoid Mushrooms. They are Mushmush and Myconor, I think you can guess from the names who is who.

For Christmas I made this Dwarf putting the star on the tree, with his hat, a bag of gifts and a gingerbread cookie on his belt

First of all, infinite thanks to all the tribers, pioneers and patrons who have supported my work, you mean everything 🙏 It has been a few months since I have published new posts nor have I been very active online. Last year at home and personally I have had to face some physical health problems that also affect mental health. It's been a tough time... but hey, I don't have to fight a Balrog or pilot an EVA... 🤔 although thinking about it that would be cool. But it's not all bad news, you just have to keep searching the codex for the spell you need and gather the components 🧙‍♂️ Thank you for your enormous support and huge patience this time when I could not be completely for you or for my work. I am fully aware of the delays in some of my deliveries and commitments. I have not delivered all the new models, I have sent every throwback set and I am currently working on the pending models. February's monster is a Dunkleosteus kaiju (🐋+🦈+🚂) that will be ready in a few more days and then I will upload one of the delayed models I have to 50% ⚙️ I don't want to close or give up what I love to do and I like it, life finds a way and so do I. Your support every month or even sharing your painting work is a boost that makes my day and I truly appreciate it with my soul 🌟 Thanks again and I'm sorry for the delay and lack of information. Hello there!!! 👋 November has begun and studying our Codex we find more information about some Tinkerer Goblins and their improvised killing machines. Today we bring back these 4 goblins to cause destruction and chaos wherever you take them, and the best of all is that they have modular weapons and tools so you can assemble them to your liking. Tier Adventurers receive the 4 goblins with 14 modular hands and Scouts will receive one of them. This month's big model will be a built or half-built/destroyed Land Ship (you never know with these guys) with pikes and cannons ready to attack any shiny target in sight (and some extra surprise will arrive along with the ship). Steam, chemicals, magic or just the belief that this machine works, gives a life of its own to the ship and for better or worse, these little guys need some assistance en route when they are out plundering 💰⚔️

Hello there!!! This is Big Boss Nuckelavee's WIP. It is on a 75mm round base. Now I'm working on the human torso and then texturing the base. After all this and merging the pieces, it's turn to make the cuts and keys. The last part is to make the presupports and renders to prepare the images and assembly instructions. During this week everything will be ready and you will have it in your MMF accounts.

This is the first "decent" concept I've made for one of my sculptures, before I just made a quick sketch without details, gathered the references I liked and made the design during the sculpting. On other occasions I commissioned the design to a concept artist (like for the Praetors), but this time after all the sculpting and designing I've had, I wanted to try how I could do it and I liked the result, obviously I have a lot to improve and keep polishing, especially in character design, costumes and composition, so keep practicing and working.

A few days ago (the 29th) was my birthday and I want to make you part of this. • Throx, Champion of Kha. The Champion of the Kha-Tribe was the second miniature I've made (the first was "Thyz the Herbalist" which is free for download) and I still love what I did with that claw on his severed hand, the necklace of skulls from different species and obviously the triceratops shield.
• Shidar and Arcaena. This set is one of my favourites, the Blackwood Guardians set, tree people who have had to adapt to defend their forest from external threats, but along with weapons, come the seeds to give new life to the forest. Shidar is the guardian of the spirit of the forest that resides within it... literally. When you put them together you will notice that Arcaena seems to levitate inside the tree.
• The Heart of the Mountain, I must admit that I partly made this "Skaldarg Miner Dwarf Company" set to recreate this scene that I love. Dwarves are one of my favorite races and I really enjoyed making these fierce miners and giving them a history and making up names for each one.

Epic Boss March release. For a long time I wanted to make a wendigo and this month I enjoyed exploring the shapes, posture, extra arms everywhere and lots of antlers... I must admit that I love horror monsters. I wanted to make a wendigo different from the classic humanoid size weremoose zombie. I like the design of the wendigo from the movie "The Ritual" but I didn't want to do something so similar, so I looked for several references to monsters, horrors and aberrations and I started to put together this beauty hahaha Our friend Alex has been very busy with a lot of work this month (which is good) so he's going to give us the stats in the next few weeks, I'll upload them as soon as I have them. The files are already availables in your library. Here are a bit of images, a video and in a post above a gift 🤩 I hope you like this "bigature" and if you print or paint it I would love to see it. Thank you for all the enormous support and company in this adventure of creating a monster. Something equally gigantic is coming for April, a mammal bird like you have not seen before 🦉🐻

And now, a little bit of lore... A forbidden curse fell on the King of Garmaroq when he attempted to stop the new Emperor of Vishnarraven, his former ally. This ended up dooming both realms. The king was cursed to hunger insatiably for his own flesh and remain forever in the world of the livings. The savage deaths of his family and those close to him led the kingdom to an internal war that ended up dividing it and spreading the conflict to nearby territories. Before the human part that still remained in him was extinguished, he obsessed over consuming the Emperor who cursed him and eat all his lineage. Many times he was caught and killed but he always rose in a new body with more strength and power. When only destruction was left behind and in his mind there were only screams and howls he entered the deep forests of Garmaroq. Centuries passed and cold, darkness and a thick fog flooded the forests. After generations the history was forgotten and legends grew about a great monster that devoured whoever entered its darkness and even whoever managed to escape had to be killed before attacking another person and spreading the curse. It is a monster that screams at your mind, makes you grow an insatiable hunger and will not tire of chasing you if it tasted your blood. You may try to kill it and you may think you have succeeded, but what is dead cannot die and Garmarok's curse will rise once more.

Hi! The March monster is this Giant Wendigo Horror. In pictures below you can see the progress of the model. I love horrors and for a long time I wanted to make one like this. Have in mind that this is still a Work In Progress and I'm working in arms, legs and fur. This weekend will have a new update. The Adventurers and Merchants have available the Extra pack with 4 beast hounds.

Hello there!!! This is Widget and Beep Boop! Christine from Moonlight Minis designed both of these models, and did an art exchange with us. She did an amazing job sculpting Widget, and I sculpted Beep Boop! This models were supported by our friends at Atlas. I hope you enjoy the little pair! "This is a species of dragon that lives on the islands at south of the Gulf of Rasay, it hunts mainly at sea, although it has been seen as far north as Brasswood Forest and sailors said they have seen them hunting thousands of miles out to sea. They are solitary in habit, but in seasons when prey is scarce they can gather in small groups to increase their hunting success. It is very fast and silent in flight. They mainly hunt prey that comes to the surface. In the rainy season all the dragons gather on the main island of the archipelago and lay their eggs there. When a ship gets too close to the islands, they attack them in a group and even if the ship changes course or retreats they chase them until they sink. This behavior has caused legends to be told among sailors of a treasure abandoned by a pirate witcher who left the dragons bewitched to take care of the island until he can return reincarnated as the captain of the largest ship ever built, which is why the island remains without being stepped on by anyone. In all the taverns near Rasay there is an announcement of an famous collector (who pays a huge amount of money enough for a non-noble to live without worries for the rest of his life) to own an egg not hatched from this species of dragon, this makes more and more adventurers dare to go to that island, but so far no group has been able to get the loot. If a ship is lucky enough to get close to the island without being sunk first, but is wrecked on its shores and its crew manages to swim to the island, they will quickly realize that they would have been better off drowning or burning because as soon as they step on the coast are chased by the voracious hatchlings that still cannot fly far from the island and need some prey to learn to hunt by playing with their food. To attack the ships, it uses its long tail to cut the ropes and sails, rendering the ship useless. When the ship can no longer navigate, they spit fire at them and fly around waiting for the sailors to jump into the sea, becoming the perfect prey floating on the surface of their sea"

Thanks to everyone for your amazing support and thrust in my work 🙇🌟🌟🌟 Since May I will pause tribe and patreon indefinitely as I will be working in an upcomming crowdfunding project. First of all I will complete the April set before working on any other miniatures. You will get the "Raid from Aquina's depths" set during May This new project is something I have thought about for a long time and could not carry out (paradoxically) precisely due to lack of time to work on. This dwarf set encouraged me to carry it out (when you see it you will notice why). The patreon will be paused and tribe will keep active for Merchant licence only. "I have the legend in my hands", thought the Seeker in wonder. In the capital city of the Vazzhin Empire lived and died Pate the Seer, who spent his last years confined in the High Temple to prevent the rest of the world from hearing of his visions.

One morning he was found unconscious in the alleys of the city and when he did not wake up for three days his companions called the priest to bless him and in peace to end his life. He received the rite of those who are going to die and when the priest placed the knife on his chest, he suddenly opened his eyes; their screams were heard even in the palace itself. They were screams of terror entangled with meaningless words that spoke of monstrous beings and people impossible to imagine. He spoke of creatures of blasphemous forms, humans with gods-like powers and worlds where reality had another meaning.

This happened about a hundred years before the fall of the great city after the invasion of Karrgat the Imminent. A confused time in the records and already forgotten by ordinary people who don't even know the great names of yesteryear or who they belong to. This is why there is no clarity about the rest of the Seer's life. It is said that he was brought before the king and he was taken as a counselor or jester, in other writings it is indicated that he was captured by faith to remove the demons that spoke to him inside, but it is also said that he was received in peace as one of them. The only thing clear in all versions is the beginning and the end of the story. He died there and some priests made a book with the transcription of his words.

A book forgotten and later cursed by the same faith that wrote it. The few copies they made were purified in blood and then burned, but the original was apparently stolen by one of the priests, its whereabouts were never known. It is that book that is in his hands today.

Lost and forgotten among the abandoned ruins of the city today comes to light. But something that the Seeker did not expect is that it was written in the Old language, a language forbidden to the people at that time and in this, forgotten by the world.

The only thing he could read was an inscription in the common language, it was written on the first page and did not have the same wear as the rest of the manuscript, it was a new writing and made in a hurry. As he read it, he could feel that his search for meaning and that that urge to always need to know more could come from something beyond his current understanding. The inscription is "spread the word."

I will look for those who want to join me in my task of deciphering its mysteries and acquiring the secrets hidden in those letters. We will interpret the signs, break their seals, and invoke the spells of the Codex Universalis.
