Model Scale

Most of the time our models are in 32mm scale for use with tabletop RPGs and most of the wargames out there. We also use base size as a reference, the miniature height is referring to biped models:

1 inch base - Medium sized miniature (miniature height 32mm from eye level to foot on a T-pose)
2 inch base - Large sized miniature (miniature height 50-75mm from eye level to foot on a T-pose)
3 inch base - Huge sized miniature (miniature height 75-100mm from eye level to foot on a T-pose)
4 inch base - Gargantuan sized miniature (miniature height 100-120mm from eye level to foot on a T - pose)
5 inch base - Titan sized miniature (miniature height 120mm+ from eye level to foot on a T-pose)

Remember you can always adjust scale as you see fit in your slicer!

(Frequently asked questions) How do I get the files? Upon release, we will post a link with the monthly releases! What do the welcome packages contain? Check what the Sinister Vault and Star Vault contain HERE Both Vaults will be continuously updated with new models as this Patreon page grows. How soon can I download the files? As soon as you join in one of our tiers! We fulfill the 3D files of each monthly release on MyMiniFactory on the month after! That means:

Files stay in your MMF library FOR GOOD!
You save tons of storage on your hard drive!
No rush to get the files at the end of every month.
We fulfill only our monthly releases and our loyalty rewards through MMF. Sinister vault, special promos, collaborations, and other time-specific or time-sensitive promotions are not fulfilled via MMF.

When will I be charged? The moment you join you'll get your first bill. Afterward, you'll get billed the 1st day of every month . What if I want a model no longer available on Patreon? All models will be available on our online storestore. Patrons will always be getting early releases of the minis and many exclusives.

We test and retest our prints prior to releasing them to the public to ensure there are no failures inherent in the files. Commercial Use License - Additional Terms and Conditions

Filling in the Archvillain Games Merchant Registry survey is mandatory for receiving a Commercial Use License. It is mandatory for licensees to keep the information provided in the said survey up to date and valid. Only when the survey is completed and the terms and conditions are agreed to can a member of the Merchant tier utilizing their commercial license. The Merchant Registry Survey link can be found in every Merchant Tier download post.
You may sell 3d prints of our models as long as you remain subscribed to a tier that provides a commercial license. -You may not cast our models.
You may not sell our digital files.
You may not share our digital files.
You may not accept printing commissions by a third party that shares Archvillain Games digital files with you.
You may not use our products in crowdfunding campaigns.
You must credit Archvillain Games as the artist responsible for creating said models.
You may not put your logos on our images for marketing or promotional purposes.
Merchants may use only graphic materials, logos and digital renders created and provided by Archvillain Games when presenting Archvillain Games products.

New 2025 Archivillain Games Painting Contest - Rules & Guidelines

Hello everyone! We have some news for the 2025 Painting Contest: we have renewed the structure for 2025 adding a new category and an updated competition system with different qualifying rounds and with a Grand Final so we will be able to crown a 2025 winner. Before we start we want to thank our two main sponsors Ameralabs and The Army Painter, without them this contest would not be possible.

++What is the contest structure?++

Every month, from January to November 2025, there will be a monthly round of the Painting Contest with not only great prizes for the top 3 contestants but they will also get the opportunity to qualify for the Quarter Finals for each of the two categories. The four Quarter Finals will determine the finalists for the Grand Final of our 2025 Painting Contest, and the top 3 contestants of the Quarter Finals in each category will of course be getting additional prizes.

++In which categories can you participate?++

On every monthly round there will be two categories:

Monthly Collection category: Ιn this category participants may submit only photos of models released the month during which you are entering and may be from either the Fantasy or the Sci-Fi collection of each respective month.
Classic Category: In this category participants may submit photos of models released in any month previous to the month during which you are entering and may be from any of our past Fantasy or Sci-Fi collections. So, yes you can use any model from Archvillain Games Collection but the current month's ones.

++What are the prizes?++

Below you can check the prizes for both the Monthly round of the Painting Contest and the Quarter Finals. Monthly round prizes for each category:

1st place - Qualification for the Quarter Final + 2 bottles of resin by Ameralabs + The Army Painter Speedpaint Starter Set or Wet Palette + 3 Months Free Archvillain Games Patreon or MMF Subscription for the Omniversal Tier.
2nd place - Qualification for the Quarter Final + 1 bottle of resin by Ameralabs + 3 Months Free Archvillain Games Patreon or MMF Subscription for the Omniversal Tier.

🛑 PLEASE RE++AD - ADDITIONAL CONTEST RULES:++

++General++:

Each subscriber may submit more than one model on each month round, but no more than one prize will be awarded to the same person.
Participants that already have won a prize will be allowed to participate in other monthly rounds and quarter finals, but they will not qualify to win the same prize, they will qualify to win a prize that they have not won yet, among the prizes listed. So for instance, in the case of winning the 2nd prize in a quarter final, the participant will be able to participate in the next one in order to compete for the 1st place and win the 3D printer. In that case, he will get the 3D printer but not the rest of the prizes as the participant has already got them. Remaining prizes will go to the following qualified participants.
Entries must be painted by the person entering the contest.
Entries must be physically painted models.
No digital editing is allowed (i.e. filters, etc.)
Entry photographs must be at least 1024 x 1204 pixels at 72 DPI
Bases may be customized and the original base does not have to be included
Participating with a miniature that has suffered significant alterations from the original design will result in the disqualification of the entry
Entries must be submitted by midnight (PST) on the last day of the month
Winners will be announced later the following month according to the calendar at the end of these rules & Guidelines. ++Scaling & Kitbashing++:
No kitbashing
Resin prints cannot be scaled up
FDM prints may be scaled up to 200% of their original size ++Dioramas++:
Diorama entries are allowed as long as they only include ONE valid model
The character model must be the main subject of the entry ++Miscellaneous++:
Archvillain Games does not manufacture or ship any of the contest prizes. They are shipped directly from the manufacturer. Any concerns or questions with the products should be sent to the manufacturer directly or contact us on contact@archvillain.com.
Archvillain Games will reach out to the winners via their subscribed platform, social media or email and provide the instructions for the winner to to accept the prize, as long the promotional codes will be sent by our sponsors. Failure to claim the prize within 30 days constitutes forfeiture of the prize.
By submitting a photo to the contest, the entrant is giving Archvillain Games and its affiliated sponsors the right to use the submitted images for marketing purposes without remuneration.
Archvillain Games retains the right to alter the contest rules at any time.
Archvillain Games retains the right to disqualify any entrant based on breaches of Community Guidelines and/or Terms of Service at any time.

You asked for it and we were more than happy to oblige! Here is a short synopsis of what you can expect to find in its dark pages!

An undead-themed adventure path seeded with political intrigue, unimaginable horror, blood chilling battles against the Gravelords and a climax that defies the boundaries of life and death!

You will go up against a main antagonist whose motives are not as black and white as they may initially seem. As the plot unfolds, your players will find themselves wondering whether they retain the moral high ground and where the line of right and wrong is drawn. This Adventure will shape the modern history of the ever-evolving world of the Drifting Havens. YOUR players will have the chance to take part in one of the most important eras in Drifting Haven's modern history.
A kick-ass sentient undead ship! The ship can gain awesome powers and travel overland giving you a mobile base of operations, a new fascinating way to handle traveling and an excuse for lots of optional side-quests to upgrade it to a juggernaut of terror and destructio!
You will get a boat-load (pun intended) of interesting opponents to slay, parley, and trade with. From skeleton captains, to legendary vampire lords, to deathlord philosophers and recurring mysterious entities. All that, spread along dozens of awe-inspiring iconic locations and diversified biomes (temperate island, swamp, wasteland, mountains, arctic, plains and more) so your players never grow tired of exploring the unknown.
You will have countless reasons to easily implement all the grim options from “Erevan's Guide to Death and Beyond”.

Dark Remembrance

The vessel that you dared to brave, a burden far beyond the grave. As cursed me, I’m cursing thee. Thy deeds shall dark-remembered be. Here is a bit more information on the new game mechanic of Dark Remembrance by our writers: The sentient undead pirate warship forges a special bond with one or more characters and unlocks supernatural capabilities based on their level. It is designed to have a five-fold role in your game:

Act as a base of operations for the characters, where they can indulge in interesting downtime activities and roleplaying encounters using the ship’s log feature.
Introduce a new game mechanic for boosting the characters’ abilities at a cost via the Lifebound Augmentation and Lifebound Drain features.
Provide unique opportunities for exploration and ship combat through the ship’s supernatural movement and combat powers.
Upgrade the ship's abilities as you progress in levels and its sentience is further bound to your lifeforce.
Dark Remembrance will play a special role in the Undying Accord Adventure Book as it will be the vessel that the players will use to venture through the realms of the living and the dead alike - prepare to embark on a grim journey to the Drifting Havens! (What are the Drifting Havens you ask? Well we are saving that for a next update..)

Dark Remembrance will be unlocked and included in the Erevan's Guide sourcebook and the Undying Accord Adventure Book once we reach 800K euros, one of the big upcoming milestones of our campaign! We will be sharing more details on the mechanics of the undead ship in a future update. For now, help us unlock the Crypt Dweller Codex, as it will be included in all tiers for free once unlocked!

The exact method is a closely guarded secret but it is believed that the process involves a frightening number of living souls, the blood of an Ancient One, and a century of undisturbed hibernation to complete the process. Failure at any point destroys the Vampire in question but the power at stake is worth the risk to some and for others, it is worth any risk to prevent a new Elder from being "born." Most Elders spend much of their time Shapeshifted into their human form which takes on the appearance of their original body at whatever age they choose. They use this trick to make it more impactful when they reveal their full form to an enemy.

The heads of these hags bear a disturbing resemblance to malevolent elks, topped with crowns of dense, twisted antlers. These antlers are not merely ornamental but vital tools of their dark rituals, etched with arcane symbols that aid in their deep connection to blood and shadow. Origins Soulherder hags trace their sinister lineage back to the Plane of Shadow, a realm cloaked in perpetual twilight and silence. The name of the king who would become Atrum Rex, the Black King, has worn away by time like stone turns to dust. Once a soldier of insignificant birth, his rise to power was a bloody path of cunning and bravery. He became a beacon of unity in a land torn apart by petty warlords and political strife. The king’s conquests eventually laid the foundations for an empire, as he brought battle-weary peoples under a united banner through a combination of formidable leadership and sheer military genius. Seeds of Descent Once enthroned, his rule brought on a renaissance of culture and prosperity. Atrum Rex's court became renowned across distant shores, attracting poets, philosophers, and artisans from each corner of the world. Under the watchful gaze of their indomitable king, peace flourished, and the kingdom reveled in a golden age. In honor of this unprecedented epoch, a grand fortress was erected as a monument to the king for eternity—a symbol of an everlasting dynasty. However tragedy struck amidst the height of his reign's splendor, and Atrum Rex's heart was clouded by a shadowy darkness. The death of his wife, Arabella, at the hands of an elven assassin transformed his view of the elven people from trusted allies to subjects of suspicion. North of the Viserian border, deep within the Boreas Coalition’s mountain range, lies Stoa Mortis. What had once been the Amara Academy, the pinnacle of astrological research, fell when its leader chose to walk the path of necromancy in the pursuit of knowledge. The students that now populate its halls devote their unlife to their craft and perform dark rituals under the command of their unhallowed leader: Urul, the Eternal Archivist. Because of its peculiar location between the nations of Viseria and the Boreas Coalition, even though it fell to darkness, it was mostly ignored. What little territory it claimed was deemed to be an acceptable sacrifice to keep the volatile political climate stable, as long as it did not expand further. And, indeed, the Academy seemed to be content with pursuing its interests of research solely within its walls, though, lately, dark omens seem to bode of a darkness that shall come to the whole continent. The most important building in the Academy is also the one most riddled with perils. This wonder of architecture and engineering is an ever-shifting labyrinth. North of the Viserian border, deep within the Boreas Coalition’s mountain range, lies Stoa Mortis. What had once been the Amara Academy, the pinnacle of astrological research, fell when its leader chose to walk the path of necromancy in the pursuit of knowledge. The students that now populate its halls devote their unlife to their craft and perform dark rituals under the command of their unhallowed leader: Urul, the Eternal Archivist. Because of its peculiar location between the nations of Viseria and the Boreas Coalition, even though it fell to darkness, it was mostly ignored. What little territory it claimed was deemed to be an acceptable sacrifice to keep the volatile political climate stable, as long as it did not expand further. And, indeed, the Academy seemed to be content with pursuing its interests of research solely within its walls, though, lately, dark omens seem to bode of a darkness that shall come to the whole continent. A manifestation of pure knowledge, The Fellthought Abstract is formed from the dense magical and necrotic energies present in Stoa Mortis that spontaneously fuse and attain consciousness when a sufficiently large amount of erudition gathers in one spot. The newly formed consciousness is then channelled into spheres reinforced with magic and becomes autonomous. It later constructs a body around itself by stitching together the flesh of the corpses they find. It is said that staring into the sphere for too long will fill your head with the knowledge stored inside at the cost of your sanity.

Bodach, ominously dubbed the “Old Men of the Wood,” once haunted the twisted forests as malignant beings of folklore before being ensnared by the archdemon, Orcus the Ruinlord. Garbed in tattered remnants from a forgotten age, they present a grotesque parody of nobility with skeletal visages and emaciated forms. Their pallid flesh, tinged with the grays of corruption and age, bears the marks of enduring malice. A dense, unholy mist perpetually envelops them, shrouding their bent silhouettes as they silently patrol the woodlands, the quietude broken only by the chilling rattle of chains that drape their limbs. Voiceless—save for when echoing Orcus's commands—they serve as his silent heralds, their baleful eyes acting as portals through which their master observes the Material Plane. Origins The creation of the bodach was once veiled in secrecy, known only to a sinister hag whose name has been lost to legend. Bloodmaws are a nightmarish species of Aberrations born from the unholy fusion of Void shards and vampire spawn. Each of these horrific creatures features a massive maw unnaturally held open by the limbs of vampire spawn, revealing spirals of razor-sharp fangs that descend into an endless abyss. Atop this dreadful orifice, clusters of Humanoid heads feature pallid, tightly stretched skin over lifeless skulls with eyes that hold the endless depths of the Void. Their bodies are a horrifying fusion of supple flesh and a tough, insect-like exoskeleton, radiating a malevolent aura that distorts the air and earth around them. Origin In a grim bid for power, dark arcanists and vampire lords combined Void shards—mysterious relics believed to be remnants of eldritch deities—with the bodies of feral vampire spawn. This arcane ritual was shrouded in secrecy and performed under ominous celestial events. The chaotic essence of the shards fused with the vampires, unleashing an uncontrollable surge of eldritch energy. The first bloodmaws emerged from this maelstrom, a grotesque embodiment of vampiric grace and abyssal terror. These early creations were unstable, wreaking havoc on their surroundings, transforming once grandiose vampire citadels into desolate wastelands. Once the first stable bloodmaw roared into existence, it marked the dawn of a new era for the ancient vampires as they tapped into their progeny's dark powers.

They proudly sport the uniform and colors of Stoa Mortis, a pristine attire in stark contrast with their decaying bodies.

Blautaric, once a man of voracious appetites, now embodies the terror of unbridled gluttony in his undead form. His vast, decayed physique, draped in remnants of royal finery, serves as a constant reminder of his fall from humanity and his ascent into darkness. His presence is commanding and repulsive, his voice a guttural echo that demands obedience and instills fear. In meetings with his lieutenants or while addressing his legions, his demeanor oscillates between cold calculation and sudden, terrifying outbursts of rage, serving as a stark warning to those who might consider betrayal. His voice, a guttural echo resonating from within his rotund form, commands with absolute authority. His decrees are absolute, his punishments swift and merciless. The Day of Withering Souls, when he unleashed a cataclysm upon the rebelling city of Khar'shan, serves as a grim reminder of his might. The city's once-proud defenders now march in his macabre parades, their wills enslaved to his voracious spirit.

Here is a bit of backstory for (not exactly) Saint Isdor.. Isdor's remarkable journey began under a celestial omen, born to Emeric, the village priest, and destined for greatness. A child prodigy, Isdor's deep immersion in religious lore and philosophy was evident from a young age. His heroic feat as a child, leading his village against undead attackers with both bravery and tactical genius, caught the attention of the Order of the Ashen Rose. Swiftly rising within the Order, Isdor became a living symbol of their divine crusade, achieving sainthood while still alive. However, his meteoric rise planted seeds of envy and betrayal. Betrayed during a mission in the Dread Marshes, Isdor was cursed by a dying necromancer and transformed into a grotesque abomination by the malevolent Heart of Shadows. Concealed by the Order to avoid scandal, he was confined to Rosefire Tower. In isolation, Isdor authored the 'Canticles of Contradiction,' exploring the dichotomy of light and darkness. Now known as the "Risen Saint," Isdor's tale unfolds in the hushed corridors of the Order. His spectral presence, draped in tattered robes, embodies the paradox of a once-holy warrior. The whispers from Isdor, though barely audible, offer cryptic guidance and glimpses of prophetic visions, exposing not only his profound tragedy but also the veiled hypocrisy within the Order. Battlerune Designer's Diary - Hissing Coils: Fang Dynasty

Hello all! We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to help shed some more light on Battlerune, our skirmish wargame we're developing! The beta rules will be released soon, and folks are already getting matches in, reporting their army lists, and giving feedback on rules over on our Discord! To kick things off, the game developer, Vaughn Reynolds, decided to dive into this month's fantasy collection: Hissing Coils: Fang Dynasty!

Battlerune Unit Basics:

To get everyone on the same page, I think it’s important to identify two core design aspects for ALL units in the game. ++Unit Ranks++: Every unit has at least one rank (and in some rare cases, two). This is an expression of their strategic function within their army list. The following list is in descending power order:

Avatar: Gods, titans, celestial aspects, and other beings of immense power.
Siege: Massive beasts, catapults, tanks, and other large weapons of war.
Brute: Giants, abominations, large beasts and other burly smashers of things
Cavalry: Fast units that focus on hit-and-run or flanking tactics
Champion: Custom stats chosen by you from our Champion Builder to find victory on the battlefield!
Infantry: The rank-and-file units that make up the bulk of most army lists
Support: Units that focus on augmenting other units to help win the day!
Spells: Coming soon! ++Unit Sizes++: All unit size categories are approximations. The following list is in descending order by the smallest base size for that category:
Colossal: 125mm base size
Gargantuan: 100mm base size
Huge: 75mm base size
Large: 50mm base size
Medium: 25mm base size Now that you understand the Unit Ranks and Unit Sizes, let’s move onto the collection for this month!

Haven't heard of Battlerune yet? Well here's the quick and dirty:

Activations: Battlerune is played with alternating activations, keeping the action high throughout the entire match!
Champion Units: Design your own Champion to lead your army to victory! You will be able to use any of our 32mm base sized models (and in some cases 54mm!) with a custom array of stats and abilities!
Battlerunes: Battlerunes will augment your army in your preferred play style, growing stronger if you use certain types of units in your army!
Army Customization: Battlerune will not use factions or pre-determined allegiances to restrict army building. Army design will be based off unit types such as species, professions and/or skill sets. You'll be able to mix and match to make the army you most want to play!
Accessible: Battlerune will be fully printable at home (with a standard 2d printer and 3d printer of course) and require only 2d6 and a tape measure for each player!
Quick: A standard round of 1v1 Battlerune will take around 45 minutes!

Here are two sample army lists, that are also included in the Unit Rulebook. Each of these lists are 15 Rune Shards (★) for Skirmish size matches. A • in front of a unit name means they are Unique.

The Future of Archvillain Games

Hello all! We are so thankful for your support over the years and very excited to announce our plans for the future! We launched in November 2019 with a dream (and can you believe it's been 3 years already?!). You’ve helped us make that a reality, month by month and we cannot thank you enough! But we knew we could offer you more than just a monthly collection of models with a cohesive theme...

++What we’ve accomplished so far++:

In January 2020, we released our first 5e module with Mistresses of Despair, and look how far we’ve come with your help! We’ve now released 33 modules! We’ve even revamped older modules with new covers and now have fully illustrated covers! And while we’ve always brought the most detailed and unique models in the market, we continually strive to up the ante. Just look at what's coming out next month! In July 2021, we introduced the Archvillain Society, which now has 16 volumes with 48 character models! These three shown above are coming out next month with Moondance: Gate to Argantos! In June 2022, we introduced Relics, our first venture into life-size props! Here's a look at the life-size Moonmask coming out next month for Fantasy and Omniversal subscribers! The retail price of what you get each month has grown from $60 to $85 for Villains and from $60 to $97 for Archvillains since we launched at no additional cost to you, the subscriber!

Archvillain Games writers team up with legendary world-builder Ed Greenwood!

An original roleplaying campaign setting is in the works! The Valeseer universe and the world of Drifting Havens is being fleshed out!

VOLOS, GREECE – April 12, 2022… From the renowned model designers Archvillain Games and legendary storyteller, Ed Greenwood, comes the Drifting Havens. This original roleplaying campaign setting will use and expand on the 26 one-shot adventure modules and over five-hundred 3D printable models already released by Archvillain Games since November 2019.

“It has been hundreds of years since the Age of Cataclysm. The Godslayer is dead and the Valescere is safe once again. As a brutal warning to the remaining Overgods, Sentia took one of the Godslayer’s eyes to power the sun he sought to destroy, while his other eye fell into the ocean and now festers at the bottom of the Boiling Sea.

-Print and Paint any ONE model from the monthly release (any head/pose/variant).

-Diorama style entries are allowed as long as they contain only one model.

-No digital painting/editing is allowed.

-One entry per patron allowed (model must be painted by the patron submitting the entry).

-For Resin Prints, the miniature can NOT be scaled up.

- For FDM Prints, the miniature can be scaled up to 200% of the original scale, NO MORE.

-The base can not exceed the 100mm diameter limit. (230mm if scaled up for FDM)

-The base can be custom

-The character has to be the main subject of the piece

-Photographs submitted have to be at least 512x512 pixels in resolution to be considered. There are no restrictions in terms of aspect ratio.

- Only one photo will be chosen to represent each entry

_-There must be more than 3 entries for the contest to run.

-The contest ends at the end of the month (midnight of the last day of the month PST timezone)._

- Winner will be announced in the first days of the following month.- We will not consider any entries from platforms other than FACEBOOK.

Additional rules:

- If you win a resin bottle make sure that your country allows this kind of materials to be send by post.

-Print and Paint any ONE model from the monthly release (any head/pose/variant).

-Diorama style entries are allowed as long as they contain only one model.

-No digital painting/editing is allowed.

-One entry per patron allowed (model must be painted by the patron submitting the entry).

-For Resin Prints, the miniature can NOT be scaled up.

- For FDM Prints, the miniature can be scaled up to 200% of the original scale, NO MORE.

-The base can not exceed the 100mm diameter limit. (230mm if scaled up for FDM)

-The base can be custom

-The character has to be the main subject of the piece

-Photographs submitted have to be at least 512x512 pixels in resolution to be considered. There are no restrictions in terms of aspect ratio.

- Only one photo will be chosen to represent each entry

_-There must be more than 3 entries for the contest to run.

-The contest ends at the end of the month (midnight of the last day of the month PST timezone)._

- Winner will be announced in the first days of the following month.- We will not consider any entries from platforms other than FACEBOOK.

Additional rules:

- If you win a resin bottle make sure that your country allows this kind of materials to be send by post.
